Volume 1 Training Videos

Welcome to our training videos for Volume 1.  In Volume 1 students will:  

• Learn the name and the sound of the 5 vowels and the letters m, p and s.  
• Participate in phonemic awareness tasks, including:

1. Blending and segmenting words at the syllable level,
2. Identifying which word begins with a target sound, and
3. Producing the beginning sound of a word.  

After these skills are taught, each day ends with a worksheet and a short game.  The lessons are each designed to last 30 minutes and are to be completed in 1 day.

We have chosen Lesson 11 to demonstrate the typical activities that are conducted in Volume 1.  The summary sheet for Lesson 11 is included here.  The first video below shows how to prepare for Lesson 11.    This is followed by videos showing how to conduct activities 1 through 5 in Lesson 11.
