Volume 3 Training Videos

Welcome to our training videos for Volume 3. In volume 3, students continue to learn to read syllables and to blend syllables together to read a word.
Each day, after the main skills are taught, the lesson ends with a worksheet and a short game. The lessons are each designed to last 30 minutes and are to be completed in 1 day. We have chosen parts of Lessons 49 and 68 to demonstrate the typical activities that are conducted in Volume 3. The videos below begin with an introduction showing how to prepare for Lesson 49. (Click here for the summary sheet for Lesson 49). This is followed by videos showing how to conduct some of the activities in Lessons 49 and 68. Activity 3 of Lesson 49 shows how students are taught to read syllables at the beginning of the volume, by elongating each sound. Activity 3 of Lesson 68 shows how students are quickly reading complete syllables by the end of the volume. An iPad App has been developed to make lesson preparation easier. For Activity 4, where the App can be used in the place of manipulatives, we have shown videos of the activity conducted both with and without the App. |
