Volume 2 Training Videos

​Welcome to our training videos for Volume 2.  In Volume 2 students will learn to read syllables.  At the beginning of the volume, students learn to read a syllable by saying the individual sounds of a syllable and then blending them together to read the syllable.  By the end of the volume, students are asked to elongate each sound as they read a syllable.  

Each day, after the main skills are taught, the lesson ends with a worksheet and a short game.  The lessons are each designed to last 30 minutes and are to be completed in 1 day.

We have chosen parts of Lessons 38 and 45 to demonstrate the typical activities that are conducted in Volume 2.  The videos below begin with an introduction showing how to prepare for Lesson 38.  (Click here for the summary sheet for Lesson 38).  This is followed by videos showing how to conduct some of the activities in Lessons 38 and 45.  Activity 3 of Lesson 38 shows how students read syllables at the beginning of the volume.  Activity 3 of Lesson 45 shows how students read syllables by the end of the volume.

An iPad App has been developed that can be used in the place of manipulates needed to conduct Activity 4.  We have therefore shown Activity 4 being conducted both with and without the App.
